Submitting to AGU Journals

AGU editors welcome contributions from authors throughout the world. The decision to accept a contribution for publication is made by the journal editor solely on the basis of suitability of subject matter to the focus of the journal, originality of the contribution, and scientific merit. The editor has complete responsibility and authority to accept a submitted article for publication or to reject it. The editor may confer with associate editors or reviewers for an evaluation to use in making this decision.

Acceptable File Formats

Authors will be asked to provide final manuscripts and artwork as electronic files. See information about Acceptable Electronic File Formats and Guidelines for Preparing Graphics Files for information in preparing files for submission.

Auxiliary Materials [Electronic Supplements] may include color figures, oversize maps, videotape, or electronic supplements that cannot be included in the print journal. While auxiliary materials are not essential to understanding of the article and its conclusions, the reviewers will determine the relevance of the material. The material must meet the technical standards set for usefulness and archival purposes. As of 2002 the electronic version of the article will be the archival record. See the Guidelines for information about submitting these materials.
