geoschemas.org (previously science-on-schema.org) is an emerging standard for publishing schema.org (about data repositories and datasets) as JSON-LD for the geosciences. Recently, the geoschemas.org effort has seen significant interest and uptake within the ESIP and RDA communities with ongoing work to standardize and simplify uptake across institutions/governments/disciplines.

This 1/2-day workshop will provide the "complete practitioners guide" for those interested in learning about and using schema.org metadata to describe dataset and data repositories across the geosciences. Attendees will be walked, end-to-end, through all guidance related to the geoschemas.org standard. The workshop will be hands-on and attendees should come with the expectation that they will leave with artifacts which accurately describe their datasets and data repositories using geoschemas.org.
