Actionable tools that provide climate and geophysical data in readily accessible, usable formats to people with specific information needs must be developed to communicate, support and enable climate change action. Development of truly actionable tools requires: communication and facilitation bridging the scientific, policy, and practitioner communities, and technological expertise to transform massive datasets to locally or regionally relevant proxies that enable action while maintaining scientific rigor. This session seeks to connect scientists producing and policymakers using data with technical experts creating novel visualization and computing platforms. We welcome abstracts that share success stories or novel pathways on establishment of long-term relationships between scientists, stakeholders, and code developers; on enabling communication between these groups; or on production and communication of usable science data and informatics and tools. We also seek forward-looking approaches that address challenges and opportunities from forthcoming high-resolution data and methods for presenting multiple concurrent events and stressors.
