The availability and volume of Earth observation data are continuously increasing, as are the many applications of these measurements. There is a growing demand for opportunities to develop skills in the use and application of geospatial data and scientific information for societal good. This session focuses on organizations engaged in building and strengthening the capacity of individuals and institutions to use Earth observations to address environmental issues, make data-driven decisions, and develop public policy. Contributors will discuss their methods and protocols for increasing data use and implementing and measuring the impact of capacity building and professional development efforts across thematic topics and geographic regions. The session will explore multiple approaches, along with insights into their effectiveness, challenges, best practices, and benefits. This poster session aims to provide the broader science community with a general understanding of the Earth science capacity building community and the resources available.
