Timeline

April 2025	Early	Session and town hall proposals open.
May 2025	28	Wednesday, 28 May 2025 (23:59 EDT/03:59 UTC): Session and town hall proposal deadline.
June 2025	Early to late	OSM26 Program Committee reviews session proposals. The program committee may: Reject or merge similar proposals. Move sessions to another topic area. Request revisions to session titles/descriptions.
July 2025	Early	Chairs are notified if their session and town hall proposals are accepted. The abstract submission portal opens.
August 2025	20	Wednesday, 20 August (23:59 EDT/03:59 UTC): Deadline for abstract submissions. Chairs must: Monitor abstract submissions for topical relevance and scientific merit. Contact the program committee to transfer misplaced abstracts by this date. Monitor for session merging opportunities if abstracts are few.
September 2025	8-15	Chairs are notified of their session allocations. Chairs review, rate, and order abstracts and recommend rejections to program committee. Chairs designate at least two session moderators and one Student Presentation Evaluation Program (SPEP) liaison.
September 2025	16-17	Program committee meets and finalizes program schedule. Chairs lose access to sessions online as the committee takes over scheduling.
October 2025	Mid	Abstract notifications and official session schedule notifications are sent. Authors must accept or decline presentations. Chairs monitor oral and eLightning sessions for withdrawn abstracts. Chairs may replace withdrawn oral or eLightning presentations with poster presentations (with author consent). No new abstracts can be added to sessions.
February 2026	22-27	OSM26 takes place in Glasgow, Scotland, UK.
