#AGU25 is a well-orchestrated event with deadlines established in advance to ensure that everyone can fully enjoy a fantastic scientific meeting.

mid - March

  • Session, town hall, and pre-conference workshop proposals open.

23 Apr

  • Session, town hall, and pre-conference workshop proposals close at 23:59 ET/03:59 UTC.

mid - May

  • Program committee conducts session reviews and merges.
  • Conveners must be available to discuss session merges.

mid - June

  • Session viewer and abstract submission site opens.
  • Session proposal acceptance notification emails sent.
  • Invited author tool opens for session conveners.
  • Town hall and pre-workshop conference proposal notification emails sent.

30 Jul

  • Abstract submissions close at 23:59 ET/03:59 UTC.

mid - Aug

  • Program committee allocates and schedules sessions and finalizes session formats.
  • Conveners must be available to discuss session merges.

late - Aug

  • Registration and housing opens.
  • Conveners review and schedule abstracts in allocated sessions.

early - Oct

  • Student volunteer applications open.
  • Authors are notified by email of the acceptance, format, and schedule of their abstracts.

early - Nov

  • Last day to join or renew your 2025 AGU members to take advantage of discounted registration rates.
  • Early bird registration ends.
  • Student volunteer applications close.

mid - Nov

  • Last day to cancel registration to receive a full refund.
  • Last day to update online or in-person presentation status.
  • Last day to reserve housing in the AGU hotel block.

early - Dec

  • Pre-recorded online oral presentations must be uploaded.

15 Dec

  • First day of AGU25.
