JOHN C. RIES is a senior research scientist at the UT Center for Space Research His research interests include orbit mechanics, geodesy, relativity, and the application of computers and computational techniques to the solution of problems in those areas. His current research efforts are focused on improving gravity model determination for the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) and reference frame determination (including geocenter motion) from laser ranging.
