Recognizing GeoHealth Early Career Scientists
The Geohealth Early Career Award is presented annually to an early career scientist for outstanding contributions to the fields of geohealth through research, education, service, and/or societal impacts. Successful nominees are no more than ten years past the completion of their Ph.D. or highest terminal degree by the beginning of the year in which the award is presented.
- An award Certificate
- Recognition at AGU's annual meeting during the award presentation year
- Complimentary ticket to GeoHealth section event at the annual AGU meeting. A guest ticket may be issued on request.
Successful Nomination Criteria
Notable contributions can include the awardee’s high research impact, innovative interdisciplinary work, educational accomplishments such as teaching or mentoring, service to the profession or community, and/or positive societal impact. Diversity among current and previous award winners will be considered. Consideration will be given to the nominee’s involvement in AGU and alignment with the mission of the GeoHealth section. The GeoHealth committee has the right to not present an award if there is not a worthy candidate.

- an early-career scientist no more than ten years past completion of their Ph.D. or highest terminal degree by the start of the year in which the award will be presented
