Major scientific interests are trace element and isotope geochemistry applied to mantle evolution and differentiation though geological times and to continental crust formation and destruction. PhD obtained in 1982 at the University of Rennes, France. 10 years of research in the geochemistry group at the Max-Plank Institute for Chemistry in Mainz, Germany. Hired by French CNRS in 1991 in Rennes, since 1999 “Director of Research” at the University of Grenoble. Author of 80 publications, 5 in AGU journals. Associate editor of G-cubed for 8 years, convener of many sessions in past AGU meetings, AGU fellow 2011.
