Retired, ETH Zurich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology)
Prof. Or’s research focuses on mass and energy transport in porous media; abrupt landslides and avalanches; evaporation and gas exchange from porous surfaces, and linking physical processes and biological activity in soil. Dr. Or was Editor of the Vadose Zone Journal, recipient of 2001 Kirkham Award; 2004 Fellow of Soil Sci Soc. Am., chair 2008 GRC Flow & Transport; 2010 Fellow of AGU; 2014 Fellow of GSA: EGU Dalton Medal 2017; Langbein lecture AGU 2018; National Academy of Engineering 2022.
