A complete nomination package consists of the following:
A nomination letter detailing how the nominee meets the selection criteria, including a one sentence citation. The letter should include details about excellence in scientific rigor, originality and impact; leadership and service to the geomagnetism, paleomagnetism and electromagnetism research community; or development of new cross-disciplinary research areas and methods. Letterhead is preferred.
The nominee’s curriculum vitae, that includes the candidate’s name, address, email, history of employment, degrees, research experience, honors, memberships and service to the community (committee work, advisory boards, etc.).
Between three and five letters of support (separate from the nomination letter) with the supporter’s name, signature, title, institution and contact information. Letterhead is preferred.
2025 Review Timeline
- 3 January: Nomination period Opens
- 13 March: Nomination period Closes
- 15 May - 7 July: Selection committees review nominations
- 14 July: Section Award selection committees' recommendation reports are due
- 14- 21 July: Section Presidents review Section Award Committee recommendation reports
- 21 July: Deadline for Section Presidents to approve recommendations for the 2025 Section Award recipients
- September: 2025 Section Awards recipients announced
