Cancellations
Written notifications must be emailed to the AGU Registration Center. Registration cancellation received by 8 November 2024 will receive a complete refund. Cancellations received after 8 November will have a $50 USD processing fee deducted from their refund. No refunds will be issued for cancelled registrations or ticketed events after 14 November 2024.

Individuals who currently reside in developing countries are eligible to attend at no cost. These countries are defined by the World Bank as low income (Tier 1) and lower-middle income (Tier 2). If you reside in one of these countries, please use the registration portal to take advantage of the no-cost registration.
K-12 Students (Elementary, Middle, & High School Students)
K-12 students are eligible to receive no cost registration. Students will be required to upload at least one type of accepted credentials in the registration portal that verifies their current enrollment in a K-12 school. Anyone under the age of 18 will also be required to upload a child waiver form signed by their parent or legal guardian. All uploaded documents will be reviewed by AGU staff. Once reviewed you will receive confirmation via email that your registration has been approved or denied. See below for types of accepted credentials.
- Student picture ID card with current school year listed.
- A letter from a teacher, dean, or principal dated within 30 days that denotes current enrollment in a middle or high school.
- A transcript or report card that lists currently enrolled classes.

K-12 Teacher/Informal Educators
AGU will offer reduced registration to K-12 teachers/informal educators. These persons are required to upload at least one type of accepted credentials in the registration portal that verifies their current employment status as a K-12 educator or informal educator to receive reduced registration. AGU defines an informal educator as someone who is not associated with a school but is instead associated with a scientific museum, center, or planetarium whose job duties involve creating educational materials for students. The uploaded credentials will be reviewed by AGU Staff. Once reviewed, you will receive confirmation via email that your registration has been approved or denied. See below for types of accepted credentials.
- Confirmation of employment on school/institution letterhead from the principal, administrator, or direct supervisor.
- Scanned copy of teacher identification card with expiration date or current school year clearly noted.
Members of Indigenous Communities
We are pleased to announce that AGU will continue to offer no-cost registration to 100 AGU members, who self-identify as members of an Indigenous Community anywhere in the world. Applications closed 31 July 2024. If your request for no-cost registration was accepted, use the registration system to register for the meeting at no cost.
Community Leaders
We are pleased to announce that AGU will offer 100 no-cost registrations to community leaders who would like to participate in AGU 2024 in Washington, D.C. or online. Applications closed 31 July 2024.
Community leaders are trusted representatives of a community (e.g. communities of place, interest, advocacy, faith), including elected and unelected leaders. A community leader should be understood as someone who is an active member of a community, and not someone who only studies a community.
Tribal and Territorial Colleges & Universities
AGU members teaching at or attending Tribal and Territorial Colleges and Universities in North America are also eligible for free registration. Credentials verifying enrollment or employment will be required during registration.
Virtual Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students planning to attend AGU24 virtually are eligible to attend at no cost. To redeem this no cost registration, please proceed to the registration portal to complete your registration. You will be required to upload student credentials that verify current enrollment in college.

Local Undergraduate Students
Local undergraduate students within a 100-mile radius of the Walter E. Washington Convention Center can register for the meeting at a reduced cost of $100. You will be required to upload student credentials that verifies current enrollment in a college or university. Please use the registration portal to take advantage of the reduced cost registration.
One-Day Registration
AGU will offer a one-day registration rate to both members and non-members looking to attend the meeting for one day in-person. Please use the registration portal to take advantage of this registration opportunity.
