Grab an instrument and head to the Jam Session! This event started in 2010 and has been a fixture at every OSM since. It has developed quite a following among both musicians and audience members. Relax at the jam session and spend time in a variety of ways – visiting with colleagues, enjoying the musical talents or performing with other scientist-musicians. This popular event is an entertaining evening for everyone and is an OSM highlight. Add the Jam Session to your schedule.

Gather a team of up to 6 friends, or come solo, to test your knowledge! This networking event is targeted for student and early-career attendees, but all are welcome. Attending the conference alone? No worries - there will be a sign-up sheet for any participants who would like to be grouped up and have the chance to meet others while dominating the competition! Fins up: you’ll need more than a background in ocean science to compete for 1st place! Add Trivia Night to your schedule.

This informal social event is an opportunity to share conversation and refreshments with fellow LGBTQIA+ ocean scientists and engineers. We hope to build community and get organized. There is no set schedule, so stop by anytime. This event is primarily intended for people who identify as LGBTQIA+, but allies can support us by spreading the word and encouraging LGBTQIA+ colleagues to attend. Add the Rainbow Reception to your schedule.
